Pedro Gómez x OVNNIE

The paths of art cross again with Pedro Gómez. The renowned artist Bnomio, through the international brand OVNNIE, designs these Blackout down jackets that are part of the Layered collection, a collection that bets on multiple combinations crossing avant-garde and streetwear in high quality pieces in fabric and tailoring. Limited edition of 20 units, now available on their website!

The careful tailoring and craftsmanship, with Duvet down, make Blackout a unique and exclusive garment limited to 20 units. OVNNIE, the brand that transfers the practice of the artist Bnomio to fashion, launches Blackout, a coat limited to 20 units in collaboration with the benchmark in high quality down jackets, Pedro Gómez. The brand, whose creative direction is led by Bnomio, has conceived this collaboration as a unique garment, which adds to the narrative of its first collection, Layered.

The down jacket, with a tailoring pattern, detachable and handmade in Spain, is an exclusive three-quarter length design with which Bnomio wanted to ‘take an iconic feather jacket into tomorrow, into the future, perhaps a dystopian future, in a completely new pattern for Pedro Gómez’, explains the artist and creative director of OVNNIE.

With that look towards tomorrow and quality as the cornerstone of the project, Blackout is incorporated into a collection where a dozen pieces, which cross avant-garde and streetwear, present a multiplicity of complete looks. Each garment in Layered is a creative exercise materialised in high quality fabrics and careful tailoring in Spain and Portugal. The 10 garments that make up the collection, whose outer layer represents Blackout, allow for the creation of more than 25 outfits in garments of the highest quality, inspired by art, architecture and minimalist conceptions.

The collaboration between Pedro Gómez and OVNNIE proposes an innovative feather model defined by austerity and functionality. In this way, the value of the product is prioritised over the brand, and functionality connects with Layered thanks to the ability to convert the garment into a waistcoat, remove the hood, and continue the narrative of the collection by evoking that dystopian future defined by architecturally inspired minimalism.

Quality and functionality are expressed in Blackout in a seven-cell design on the outside, made of Kiss fabric, and the Duvet feather filling, which reflects the excellence of Pedro Gómez products. The inside of the garment, made in Carrara fabric, has three inside pockets and the coat is finished with a long drawstring on the hood, a clear nod to Layered’s most iconic garment, the Convertible Pant. Blackout also features exclusively designed embroidery on the pocket and on the back of the hood, as well as a leather label on the inside of the lining.

Bnomio says: ‘It has been an exciting and enriching journey. We have had the privilege of reinterpreting with Jose Luis Serrano an iconic piece of the brand, taking it into the future, in a design exercise of which we are very proud and we are very grateful to Pedro Gómez for his trust’.
